KATHY YBARRONDO
Kathy manages Barney & Barney’s Employee Benefits Department. With more than 20 years experience in the insurance industry, she has focused on developing superior employee benefits products and services to a wide variety of clients. Kathy has been with Barney & Barney since 1977, and has developed her expertise in the areas of strategic planning, insurance program design, development of value added services, and new product development.
Prior to joining Barney & Barney, she was an Auditor on the Corporate Home Office Comptroller’s Staff of the Prudential Insurance Company of Newark, New Jersey. She serves on Barney & Barney’s Executive Committee and Outside Advisory Board, is a member of the Board of Directors of the East County Family YMCA and a past Board member of both the San Diego Employee Benefit Council and San Diego Women in Insurance.
Kathy is a recipient of several local prestigious awards, including the YWCA’s TWIN award (Tribute to Women in Industry) and the San Diego Business Journal’s Women Who Mean Business award.
Kathy attended Rutgers University in New Jersey where she majored in Business Administration.
