JOHN NIEDERNHOFER

John is a Principal with Barney & Barney LLC. He leads the Executive Risk Practice, which focuses on strategically managing clients’ directors and officers liability and errors & omissions programs. He and his executive risk team work with a large number of Southern California’s private and public companies helping them maximize the integration of corporate governance issues with their risk management needs.

John’s insurance-related experience spans more than 18 years. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Virginia, and a Juris Doctor from George Mason University School of Law. He is currently a non-practicing member of the Virginia Bar. He serves on the Board of Directors for Corporate Directors Forum.

Prior to joining Barney & Barney, John was the Regional Financial Lines Manager for a division of a global insurance broker where he was responsible for directors & officers liability, professional liability, employment practices liability, and related coverages for 14 offices in the West. John’s also served in the capacity of regional technology practice leader.

John is a frequent author and public speaker on a host of topics that include, among others, corporate governance, executive and professional liability. John has worked extensively with life sciences, technology, healthcare and manufacturing sector clients. He has successfully managed over 100 public company D&O programs.
